ALLIANCE, OHIO – The Baldwin Wallace University women's indoor track and field team finished third at the 2013 Ohio Athletic Conference North Split Squad Meet tonight at the University of Mount Union in Peterson Fieldhouse in the McPherson Academic & Athletic Complex. This was the second indoor meet of the winter for the Yellow Jackets.

The Yellow Jacket women finished third of five schools with 115 points and the BW men were fourth of five teams and scored 85 points.

The BW women were led by freshman Melanie Winters (Stow/ Stow-Munroe Falls), junior Victoria Brown (Berlin Center/ Western Reserve) and senior Stephanie Shockley (Tiffin / Columbian). Winters finished first in the 60-meter hurdles in a school-record time of 9.25 seconds, second in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.00 seconds, third in the high jump mark 1.55 meters and was a member of the 4 x 200-meter relay team along with Winters, senior Lauren Nanni (Parma/ Padua Franciscan), junior Sheuquella Greeno (Lima) and senior Kaylan Lemon (Canton / Massillon Perry) as the group took second place with a time of 1:48.54.

In addition in the field events, Victoria Brown placed first in the high jump with a leap of 1.60 meters.  Stephanie Shockley also placed first for BW in the pole vault as she cleared a mark of 3.08 meters.

Placing second in their respective running events were junior Brooke Hradisky (Aurora) in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:28.99 and junior Nicole Smith (Geneva) in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.64.

In third place for the Yellow Jackets was freshman Kim Gallavan (Auburn Township) in the shot put with a throw of 12.12 meters.

The Yellow Jacket track and field teams are back in action on Saturday, February 2 at The College of Wooster Fighting Scot Invitational Meet in the new Scot Center at 12:00 noon.  The next home meet is on Friday, February 8 when the BW hosts the Mid-February Meet on the Harrison Dillard Track at 5:00 p.m.
