Men's Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Harrison Dillard Twilight

BEREA, Ohio - Select members of the Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team competed in the second and final home meet of the outdoor season, the Harrison Dillard Twilight, inside of the George Finnie Stadium. Each student-athlete competed in order to obtain a qualifying mark to the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field National Championship meet this month.  

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Junior distance runner Carter Almady (Brunswick) placed 16th in the 5000-meter run in a time of 14:58.80
  • Sophomore All-OAC distance runner Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station / Columbia) finished 22nd in the 1500-meter run in a time of 3:55.18

Field events highlighted:

  • Junior All-American Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) broke the Harrison Dillard Twilight meet record after winning his sixth consecutive high jump with a mark of 2.10 meters
  • Junior All-OAC thrower Thomas Hickman (Oxford / Talawanda) finished seventh in the discus throw with a distance of 47.14 meters
  • Junior thrower Joe Barnes (West Plains, Mo.) placed eighth in the javelin throw with a mark of 46.00 meters

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x400 relay crew, junior All-OAC Nick Young (Wadsworth), freshman All-OAC Dillon Hach (Medina), sophomore All-OAC Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding), and freshman All-OAC Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty) finished fifth in a time of 3:15.85

BW is back in action on Thursday, May 16 for the Mount Union Last Chance meet and the Augustana (Ill.) Midwest Twilight Qualifier.
