Men's Indoor Track and Field Finishes First at Dr. Taraschke Team Challenge

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team hosted the first home meet of the season, the Dr. William Taraschke Team Challenge, on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center. 

BW placed first out of six participating teams with 116.5 points.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Sophomore Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding) won the 200-meter dash in a time of 22.68
  • Freshman Dillon Hach (Medina) finished first in the one-mile run in a time of 4:26.97
  • Junior Carter Almady (Brunswick) won the 5000-meter run in a time of 15:42.41.

Field event highlights:

  • Freshman Connor Radojcsics (Mount Gilead / Northmor) placed first in the pole vault with a distance of 3.95 meters
  • Junior Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) won the shot put with a distance of 14.48 meters
  • Junior Thomas Hickman (Oxford / Talawanda) finished first in the weight throw with a distance of 15.66 meters

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x200 relay squad, Faggs, freshman Welsey Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty), freshman Cam Gay (Aurora, Colo. / Eaglecrest), and freshman Gavin Franks (Cortland / Lakeview) placed first in a time of 1:32.57
  • In the 4x400 meter relay crew, Noeth, Hach, junior Nick Young (Wadsworth), and freshman Samuel Skor (Columbia Station / Columbia) finished second in a time of 3:30.46

The Yellow Jackets return to action Friday, Feb. 2 to compete in the Third Jud Logan Light Giver Open hosted by Ashland University, and the Dan Kinsey Invite hosted by Oberlin College.
