Men's Indoor Track and Field Finishes First at Mid-February Meet

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team hosted the second and final home meet of the indoor season, the Mid-February Meet, on the Harrison Dillard Track inside the Lou Higgins Center. 

BW placed first out of nine participating teams with 148 points.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Sophomore Rodney Washington Jr. (Warrensville Heights / Benedictine) finished first in the 200-meter dash in a time of 23.35.
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference hurdler ShaDaryll Clark II (Brook Park / Berea-Midpark) placed first in the 55-meter hurdles in a time of 7.84.
  • Junior Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine) finished first in the 1000-meter run in a time of 2:32.65.

Field event highlights:

  • Freshman Ben Potasiewicz (Brunswick) placed first in the pole vault with a distance of 3.95 meters.

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x200 meter relay squad, Clark, junior Mikel Love (Fort Pierce, Fla. / Westwood), junior Nick Young (Wadsworth), and freshman JJ Jethroe (Warren / LaBrae) finished first in a time of 1:37.65.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday, Feb. 10 to compete in the All-Ohio Indoor Championships hosted by Otterbein University.
