Clark and Friscone Break Records; Men's Track and Field Places Second at All-Ohio Indoor Championships

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's indoor track and field team competed at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships hosted by Otterbein University. 

BW placed second out of 13 participating teams with 100.5 points. University of Mount Union won the meet with 118 points.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Freshman Dillon Hach (Medina) finished first in the one mile run in a time of 4:23.04.
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference hurdler ShaDaryll Clark II (Brook Park / Berea-Midpark) placed second in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.13. Clark broke a 25 year-old BW indoor record from 1999 that was originally set by Isaac Fears.
  • Freshman Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty) finished second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.00.

Field event highlights:

  • Sophomore Drexton Friscone (Columbia Station / Columbia) won the triple jump with a distance of 14.08 meters. Friscone broke a 42 year-old BW indoor record from 1982 that was originally set by Tom Fowler.
  • Junior All-OAC high jumper Christian Pfeiffer (Amherst) won the high jump with a distance of 2.05 meters.
  • Junior Jason Freeman (Garfield Heights / Padua Franciscan) placed third in the high jump with a distance of 1.92 meters.
  • Junior Kaleu Tellas (Indianapolis, Ind. / International School of Indiana) finished third in the shot put with a distance of 15.33 meters.

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x200 meter relay squad, Noeth, sophomore Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding), sophomore Rodney Washington Jr. (Warrensville Heights / Benedictine), and freshman Cam Gay (Aurora, Colo. / Eaglecrest) finished first in a time of 1:30.65.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday, Feb. 16 to compete in the Ed Finnigan Greater Cleveland Colleges Invitational hosted by Case Western Reserve University.
