Men's Indoor Track and Field Opens Season at Youngstown State Icebreaker

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's track and field team opened its 2023-24 indoor season at the Younstown State Icebreaker hosted by Youngstown State University in the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS). The meet was unscored.

The Yellow Jackets individual event highlights included:

  • Freshman Dillon Hach (Medina) placed eighth in the one-mile in a time of 4:26.16 
  • Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference runner ShaDaryll Clark ll (Brook Park / Berea-Midpark) finished 11th in the 60-meter hurdles in a time of 8.26 seconds
  • Sophomore Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding) placed 12th in the 200-meter dash qualifying in a time of 22.31 seconds

Field event highlights:

  • Junior All-OAC thrower Thomas Hickman (Oxford / Talawanda) finished fifth in the weight throw with a distance of 54 feet and 1 inch. Hickman's throw was seventh of all-time for the men's track and field program.

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x400 meter relay team, Hach, freshman Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty), sophomore Sam Sikorski (Columbia Station / Columbia), and senior Gehrig Stanley (Twinsburg / Benedictine) finished 15th in a time of 3:30.81

BW returns to action on Saturday, Dec. 2 to compete in the 10th Annual Holiday Classic hosted by Case Western Reserve University.
