Men's Outdoor Track and Field Competes at Amy Adams Invitational and Weems Baskin Relays

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team competed at the Amy Adams Invitational, hosted by Muskingum University. The meet was unscored.

The Yellow Jackets individual events highlights included:

  • Freshman All-Ohio Athletic Conference sprinter Wesley Noeth (Powell / Olentangy Liberty) placed second in the 400-meter dash in a time of 50.33.
  • Junior Matt Perry (Mentor) finished second in the 10,000-meter run in a time of 36:54.41.
  • Junior Nick Young (Wadsworth) placed fifth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 51.23.

Field events highlights:

  • Sophomore All-OAC triple jumper Drexton Friscone (Columbia Station / Columbia) finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 13.34 meters.
  • Sophomore Kaeden Faggs (Marion / Harding) placed second in the long jump with a distance of 6.87 meters. 
  • Freshman Kitar Olsen (Whitefish, Mont.) finished third in the discus with a distance of 41.63 meters.   

On the relay side:

  • In the 4x100 meter relay crew, Faggs, junior Caden Bomback (Vermilion / Firelands), freshman Cam Gay (Aurora, Colo. / Eaglecrest), and sophomore Rodney Washington Jr. (Warrensville Heights / Benedictine) placed second in a time of 42.89.

Select members of the men's outdoor track and field team competed at the two-day Weems Baskin Relays, hosted by NCAA Division I University of South Carolina. The meet was unscored.

Field events highlights:

  • Junior Kaleu Tellas (Indianapolis, Ind. / International School of Indiana) placed sixth in the hammer throw with a distance of 51.08 meters.
  • Junior Mason Kiesel (New London / South Central) finished 12th in the shot put with a distance of 14.46 meters. Kiesel also placed 19th in the hammer throw with a distance of 40.49 meters.
  • Junior Thomas Hickman (Oxford / Talawanda) placed 14th in the hammer throw with a distance of 44.21 meters.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Thursday, March 28 as they compete at the Raleigh Relays at Paul Derr Track & Field Facility, hosted by NCAA Divison I North Carolina State University.
