Men's Tennis Squeaks by Roanoke

HILTON HEAD, S. C. - The Baldwin Wallace University men's team edged out Roanoke (Va.) College with a score of 5-4 on the courts of the Evian Tennis Center. 

Leading things off for BW (7-1) was the duo of senior two-time All-OAC and two-time Academic All-OAC Dominic Polifrone (Hudson) and senior two-time Academic All-OAC and All-OAC Matt Harris (Akron/Revere) who won their match, 8-1. Senior Ben Binion (Shelby) and freshman Edwin Schartman (Westlake) sealed the third doubles by a score of 8-5 after a Yellow Jacket loss in the second. 

Polifrone won the first doubles by scores of 6-2, 6-1 and Harris seized a victory with scores of 2-6, 6-1 and 10-4 in the tie-breaker set. Junior Jake Elbin (Findlay) was the final BW victor as he won the third singles match with consecutive 6-3 scores, for the 5-4 Yellow Jacket victory. 

BW will hit the courts next on Friday, March 8 at 8:30 a.m when they play Bridgewater (Va.) College.
