Men's Tennis Takes Down Bridgewater

HILTON HEAD, S. C. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team defeated Bridgewater (Va.) College by a score of 6-3 at the Chaplin Park Tennis Center.  

BW (8-1) was led by the duo of senior two-time All-Ohio Athletic Conference and two-time Academic All-OAC Dominic Polifrone (Hudson) and senior two-time Academic All-OAC and All-OAC Matt Harris (Akron/Revere) as they grabbed the first doubles with a score of 8-6. Senior Ben Binion (Shelby) and freshman Edwin Schartman (Westlake) won the third doubles 8-7 and 8-6 in the tiebreaker set.

Harris secured his singles match with scores of 6-2 and 6-3. Junior Jake Elbin (Findlay) won his singles match 6-3, 6-1 and sophomore Michael Benotti (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon) grabbed his match with back-to-back 6-2 scores. Senior Academic All-OAC Roger Boyer (Medina/Brunswick) seized the final singles victory by scores of 6-4 and 6-2.

BW hits the court next on Friday, March 15 at 6 p.m against Norwich (V.T.) University.
