Men's Tennis Drops Conference Match to Ohio Northern

BEREA, Ohio – In the second Ohio Athletic Conference match of the season, the Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis team fell to Ohio Northern University by a score of 8-1, on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts.

BW (11-3, 0-2 OAC) was led by the combination of senior three-time All-OAC and two-time Academic All-OAC Dominic Polifrone (Hudson) and senior two-time Academic All-OAC and All-OAC Matt Harris (Akron/Revere), who won the first doubles by an 8-2 ledger.

In singles action, the exhilarating match of the afternoon was between Polifrone and his opponent. In the first set, the two exchanged multiple leads until Vinh Thai took set one with a 7-3 tie-breaker. The second set went to the Polar Bear by a score of 6-4.

BW will hit the courts next when they travel to the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason, Ohio to square off against Franciscan University on Friday, April 12 with match start at 5 p.m. The Yellow Jackets will then play Muskingum University on Saturday, April 13 at 12 p.m and conclude the trip with a 3 o'clock match against Marietta College later that day.
