Men's Soccer Team Wins at Marietta, 1-0

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College  men's soccer team defeated Marietta College 1-0, this afternoon (Saturday, October 24, 2009) in Marietta.

With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 10-6-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Marietta drops to 5-11-1 overall and 3-4 in the OAC.
 
The Yellow Jackets scored the only goal of the game at the 30:22 mark when sophomore forward Carlin Vandendriessche (Medina/ Senior) scored on a header assisted by freshman midfielder Pat Brennan (Akron/ Walsh Jesuit). The goal was Vandendriessche's team-best 13th and the assist was Brennan's team-best sixth.
 
In goal, senior Russ Mika (Medina/ Senior) played the entire game and made six saves to improve his mark to 10-5-1.
 
The Yellow Jackets outshot Marietta 21-18 and held a 6-5 advantage in corner kicks.


B-W is back in action this Wednesday, October 28 at OAC rival John Carroll University at 4:00 p.m. in University Heights.
