BW Men's Soccer's Grater and Smith Named NSCAA/adidas All-Region

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin-Wallace College men's soccer senior defender Nate Smith (Ashland) and junior midfielder Jeff Grater (Stow/ Stow-Munroe Falls) were named to the 2009 National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas Division III All-Great Lakes Region team. Each was tabbed as a third-team selection.

The duo helped lead the Yellow Jackets to a 13-2-1 mark in their final 16 games with 10 shutouts.

Smith, a two-year captain, paced the Jacket defense to a 0.96 goals against average. He totaled three assists, two of which aided game-winners, and was an at-large selection to the All-Ohio Athletic Conference First-Team.

Grater totaled nine points on three goals and three assists. He also was named first-team All-Ohio Athletic Conference and ESPN THE MAGAZINE Academic All-District IV this fall.

The Yellow Jackets finished the season at 13-7-1 overall, advanced to the semifinal round of the OAC Tournament and tied for second place during the conference's regular season with a 7-1-1 record.
