Men's Soccer Falls to Lebanon Valley (Pa.), 1-0, in Double OT, in Tournament Consolation Game

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin-Wallace College men's soccer team lost to Lebanon Valley (Pa.) College, 1-0 in double overtime, in the consolation round of the Penn State-Behrend Herb Lauffer Tournament in Erie, Pennsylvania today (Sunday, September 6, 2009). 

B-W is now 0-3 on the season and Lebanon Valley improves to 1-1-1.

After a scoreless 90 minutes and first overtime, Lebanon Valley's Mark Johnson scored off a corner kick in the 117th minute of double overtime to pull out the victory for the Dutchmen.

Overall the Dutchmen outshot B-W, 10-7, and outcornered the Yellow Jackets, 10-3.

In goal, senior Russ Mika (Medina/Senior) made two total saves, all coming in the first half.  Freshman Ryan Hulings (Centerville) made five saves, four in the second period and one in the second overtime.

The next men's soccer game is on Friday, Sept. 11 when the Yellow Jackets travel to Virginia Beach, Virginia to play Virginia Wesleyan 7:00 p.m.  The Yellow Jackets will also play Christopher Newport (Va.) on Saturday, Sept. 12 at 5:00 p.m.
