BEREA, OHIO -- Behind a hat trick from junior midfielder Tyler Leister (Stow/ Stow-Munroe Falls), the Baldwin-Wallace College men's soccer team defeated visiting Muskingum University by a score of 4-0 tonight (Saturday, October 17, 2009) on Tressel Field at The George Finnie Stadium. The game will air via tape delay on SportsTime Ohio tomorrow at 3:00 p.m. and again at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.

With the win, the Yellow Jackets improve to 9-6 overall and 4-1 in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Muskingum drops to 6-9 overall and 1-4 in the OAC.

The Yellow Jackets opened the scoring at the 23:27 mark when Leister beat two defenders and scored unassisted from six yards out. Leister added another unassisted goal at the 32:30 mark to make the score 2-0.

In the second half, Leister scored again on a rebound at 49:31 to pick up his first career hat trick and sophomore forward Carlin Vandendriessche (Medina/ Senior) added a fourth B-W goal on a header with 27:41 left on the clock.

In goal, senior Russ Mika (Medina/ Senior) played the first 72:04 and improved his mark to 9-5. FreshmanRyan Hulings (Centerville) played the final 17:56 to complete the team shutout.

The Yellow Jackets outshot Muskingum 26-4 and held a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

B-W is back in action this Tuesday, October 20 for Seniors' Night versus Capital on Tressel Field at 7:00 p.m.

The game will be shown on SportsTime Ohio as part of the OAC's first ever television tripleheader. The B-W versus Muskingum football game from earlier this afternoon airs tonight and both the women's and men's soccer games from this evening will air tomorrow (Sunday, Oct. 18). The men's match airs at 3:00 p.m. and will be followed by the women's game at 5:00 p.m. The men's game also will air at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
