BEREA, Ohio – Five Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis student-athletes have been named to the Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference team.
Senior Doug Ganim (Westerville/Olentangy Orange) senior Kyle Patterson (Wooster/Triway), junior Brandon Caynor (Norton), junior Nathan Katz (Upper Arlington/Bexley) and junior Jake Liebler (Medina) are five of the 34 BW spring sports student-athletes named as Academic All-OAC.
In order to be selected as Academic All-OAC, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, be in residence at the school for at least a year and maintain varsity status.
Ganim, a four-year letterwinner and two-time All-OAC selection, earns his third career Academic All-OAC honor. He is a finance major that carries a 3.78 grade point average. Ganim is one of six of the total spring student-athletes to garner his third spring academic accolade. He was Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete selection as a junior. Ganim is a Dean's List student and a member of the Dayton C. Miller Honor Society. He was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District 7 team and is now a candidate for Academic All-American honors. Ganim is sixth all-time in school history with 86 singles victories, tied for second all-time in doubles wins with 89 and fifth with 175 combined singles and doubles victories. He is a two time OAC Men's Tennis Player-of-the Week. Ganim graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Patterson, a four-year letterwinner and three-time All-OAC selection, earns his third career Academic All-OAC honor. He is a business administration major that carries a 3.83 grade point average. Patterson is one of six of the total spring student-athletes to garner his third spring academic accolade. He is a three-time Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete. Patterson is a Dean's List student and Jacket Scholar. He is a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta, Chi Sigma Alpha and Dayton C. Miller honor societies. Patterson is third all-time in school history with 96 singles victories, fifth all-time in doubles wins and is third in school history with 183 combined singles and doubles victories. He is a three time OAC Men's Tennis Player-of-the Week. Patterson graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Caynor garners his second career Academic All-OAC accolade. He is finance major that carries a 3.84 grade point average. Caynor is a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. He is a member of the Chi Sigma Alpha and Dayton C. Miller honor societies.
Katz, a three-year letterwinner, earns his second career Academic All-OAC honor. He is a public health major that carries a 3.96 grade point average. Katz is a Dean's List student and a Jacket Scholar. He is a member of the Chi Sigma Alpha Honor Society.
Liebler, a three-year letterwinner, earns his first career Academic All-OAC honor. He is a business administration major that carries a 3.59 grade point average. Liebler was an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete as a sophomore.
