Patterson Earns Third Career OAC Men’s Tennis Weekly Accolade

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University men's tennis senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC standout Kyle Patterson (Wooster/Triway) has been selected as this weeks OAC Men's Tennis Player-of-the-Week.

Patterson, who earns his third career weekly honor, was a perfect 3-0 in singles action and a perfect 3-0 in doubles plays in BW's three OAC shutout victories against Heidelberg University, Marietta College and Muskingum University last week. He only dropped two games in six sets at third singles and dropped only four games in three sets with two different partners at second and third doubles.

Patterson is an impressive 24-1 this season in singles play with his lone loss coming at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division III Central Region Championships back in September.  He is a team best 21-5 in doubles play and has a record of 19-5 at second doubles with his partner in freshman Dominic Polifrone (Hudson). Patterson played for the first time this season with junior Brian Carano (Akron/Revere) at third doubles and the duo has a record of 2-0.

For his career, Patterson ranks third all-time in school history with a career record of 89-17.  He is eight victories shy of second and 16 victories away from the all-time wins mark.  Patterson also ranks sixth all-time in doubles victories with a record of 82-24.  The 171 combined singles and doubles victories have him ranked fifth in school history.

BW is back in action on Tuesday, April 19 when it travels to Ada for an OAC match against Ohio Northern University on the University Tennis Courts at 3:30 p.m. The final regular season home match is on Saturday, April 23 when the BW hosts an OAC match against Capital University on the Pop Collins Tennis Courts at 1 p.m.
