Miller Garners First Career OAC Football Defensive Player of the Week Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University sophomore linebacker Brenton Miller (Carrollton) has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week for the first time in his career. 

Miller anchored a defensive unit that stifled a high-powered Capital University offense to a season-low 328 yards of total offense and a season-low 17 points in BW's 45-17 victory last Saturday.   He recorded a game-high tying 10 tackles and tallied his first career quarterback sacks as he registered a game-high 2.5 on the day.

This season, Miller is sixth on the Yellow Jacket defense with 18 tackles, second with 2.5 quarterback sacks and is tied for second with three tackles for loss.  He has also recorded one pass breakup.

For his career, Miller has appeared in 14 games and has recorded 46 tackles.   He has four career tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and one pass breakup.

BW is idle this week for its bye week.  The Yellow Jackets return to the friendly confines of the Tressel Field inside the George Finnie Stadium on Saturday, October 13 when it hosts an OAC game against Muskingum University on Hall of Fame Weekend at 1:30 p.m.
