MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Three Baldwin Wallace University senior football players suited up for one final game as they competed in the 2018 Gateway All American Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 22, at U.S. Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Vikings.

All-Ohio Athletic Conference quarterback Jake Hudson (East Lake, Fla.), All-OAC wide receiver Rob Wolfington (Rapids City, Mich./Elk Rapids) and All-OAC and D3football.com All-North Region wide receiver and kick return specialist Jordan Leverette (Cleveland/John Adams) each played for the Stars Team in the 22nd edition of the game. 

Nominations for the All-American Bowl are reserved for senior All-Conference performers at the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), Division II or Division III levels.

All three players arrived in Minneapolis on Thursday, Dec. 20, for check in and an initial team meeting. Friday's activities involved two separate practice sessions and an evening banquet where each player was announced in addition to those who had won awards. 

On game day, the players had the opportunity to dress in the Vikings locker room and practice on the field for an hour before a noon kickoff. The game was played with NFL rules and an NFL ball. Hudson and the other two quarterbacks rotated every two series while Wolfington, Leverette and the wide receivers rotated every five plays.  

Hudson led the Stars to a dominant 51-3 victory as he was named the team's Offensive Most Valuable Player. The quarterback went 9-of-10 for 112 yards with an eight-yard touchdown pass and a 14-yard touchdown run. Wolfington was not targeted at wide receiver but made a tackle on special teams while Leverette had a punt return for a touchdown that was called back for a block-in-the-back penalty. Fellow OAC player Darrien Fields from Marietta College also played in the game and was named MVP of the Stripes Team.
