Today's Contest
Today is the eighth game of the 2018 season and the fourth road contest for the Baldwin Wallace University football team as it travels to Marietta for an Ohio Athletic Conference game against Marietta College.  BW defeated Wilmington College by a final score of 35-33 last Saturday in Wilmington.  Marietta lost a close game to No. 10-nationally ranked John Carroll University by a final score of 27-24 in University Heights. 

The Series
BW and Marietta are meeting for 41st time on the gridiron. The Yellow Jackets lead the all-time series by a margin of 34-6. BW has won 11 of the last 12 meetings.  The last Pioneer victory came in the 2016 season when Marietta won a 62-56 shoot out. The series began in 1974 with the Yellow Jackets defeating the Pioneers, 73-0, in Berea 

BW Head Coach Jim Hilvert 
Hilvert is in his second season at BW and has a record of 12-5 and an OAC slate of 10-5. He is 79-24 in his 10th overall season and is 1-0 against Marietta.

Marietta Head Coach Andy Waddle: 
Waddle is in his sixth season Marietta and has a record of 20-37 overall and 17-34 mark in the OAC.  He is 1-4 vs. Baldwin Wallace. 

Last Game vs. Marietta -- Sept. 30, 2017
BW scored 52 points on 300 yards passing, 272 yards rushing and 572  total yards.  Marietta scored 24 points on 213 yards rushing, 196 yards passing and 409 total yards.  

Scouting the Yellow Jackets
In week seven of the season, BW scored 35 points on 285 yards passing, 276 yards rushing and 561 total yards.  Wilmington scored 33 points on 222 yards passing, 157 yards rushing and 379 total yards.

BW Leaders
Offensively, senior quarterback Jake Hudson (East Lake, Fla.) is second in the OAC with 1731 yards passing.  Hudson has completed 123 of 186 passes with 15 touchdowns and five interceptions.  Sophomore running back Jon Murray, Jr. (Cincinnati/Withrow) ranks fourth in the OAC in yards rushing with 613 yards on 77 carries.  Murray found the end zone seven times, including a career-long 80-yarder. Senior wide receiver Chad Steinwachs (Buffalo, N.Y./Williamsville North) tops the receiving corps and is tied for ninth in the OAC with 25 catches for 306 yards and a team-best five touchdowns. Defensively, junior linebacker Josh Liberati (Lisbon/David Anderson) tops the squad with 37 tackles. Senior defensive end Wezlee Spence (North Canton/Hoover) is second with 32 stops but leads the team with 11 tackles for loss and eight quarterback sacks.

Scouting the Pioneers
In week seven of the season, Marietta scored 24 points on 209 yards passing, 140 yards rushing and 349 total yards.  John Carroll  scored 27 points on 240 yards passing, 186 yards rushing and 426 total yards.

Marietta Leaders
Offensively, senior quarterback Darrien Fields is third in the OAC with 1699 yards passing.  Fields has completed 136 of 196  passes with 18 touchdowns and three interceptions. Junior running back Tanner Fields leads the OAC in three rushing categories with 1198 yards, 177 carries and 17 touchdowns. Sophomore wide out Maguire Morris tops air attack with 36 catches for 343 yards and two touchdowns while junior wide out Andrew Barker tops the team with seven touchdowns.  Defensively, senior linebacker Garrett Davis tops the squad and is third in the OAC with 68 tackles.
