Football Rushes into AFCA Poll at No. 24

WACO, Texas – The Baldwin Wallace University football team rushed into the 24th spot in this week's American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III poll. 

BW (7-1, 6-1 OAC) landed in the top-25 poll after its thrilling come from behind 30-28 victory over Marietta College last Saturday on a 42-yard game-winning and career-long field goal by junior place kicker Jimmy Marshall (Lakewood) as time expired.

The Yellow Jackets are one of three Ohio Athletic Conference members to be ranked as they join the University of Mount Union (#1) and crosstown rival John Carroll University (#10) in the poll. 

BW, who is also receiving votes and is just outside the top-25 in the d3football.com poll, closes out the home portion of its regular season on Saturday, November 3 when it hosts an OAC game against Ohio Northern University on Seniors' and Parents' Day and the 30th Anniversary of the 1988 OAC Championship at 1:30 p.m.  The Yellow Jackets play their regular season finale on Saturday, November 10 when they travel to University Heights for an OAC game against John Carroll in the 30th Battle for Cuyahoga Gold Bowl Trophy on Wasmer Field at 1:30 p.m.
