Two Football Student-Athletes Named to the CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-District Team

BEREA, Ohio – Two Baldwin Wallace University football student-athletes have been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Google Cloud Academic All-District 7 team. 

Junior Academic All-0hio Athletic Conference free safety Kyle Kelly (Wadsworth/St. Vincent-St. Mary) and junior Academic All-OAC offensive lineman Ryan Sympson (North Lima/South Range) have been selected to the first-team for the first time in their careers.  The duo now advances to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced in December.

Kelly, who carries a perfect 4.0 grade point average in physical therapy, appeared and started in all 10 games this season.  He was tied for eighth on the team with 28 tackles and also recorded two pass breakups.   For his career, Kelly has appeared in 21 games and tallied 75 tackles and five pass breakups.

Sympson, who carries a 3.95 grade point average in biology and pre-med, appeared in four games this season on a Yellow Jacket team that averaged 38.8 points per game and 456.6 total yards of offense per contest.  In three season, he has appeared in 16 games.

BW finished the 2018 campaign with an overall record of 8-2 and third place finish in the OAC with a mark of 7-2.
