Trio of Baldwin Wallace University Student-Athletes Named OAC Players of the Week

BEREA, OHIO --  Three Baldwin Wallace University spring student-athletes shared four Ohio Athletic Conference Player of the Week awards today (Monday, April 25, 2011) for their efforts during the Week of April 18-24.  The three are freshman softball player Tabitha Murray (Mogadore/ Field), junior men's golf standout Ricky Jaskolski (North Royalton/ Padua Franciscan) and senior OAC women's tennis player-of-the-year candidate Caitlyn Pecinovsky (Whitehall/ Columbus Bishop Hartley). The award is the third in Pecinovsky's career and the first for both Murray and Jaskolski.

Pecinovsky, a four-year starter and three-year starter at number-one singles and No.1 doubles, earned her honor for having a 4-0 week with a pair of singles and doubles victories as BW defeated Heidelberg (8-1) and Wilmington (9-0).  She dominated her opponents and ran her OAC singles mark to 7-0 this season prior to matches this Wednesday at Otterbein and at home versus Muskingum on Saturday. Pecinovsky ran her seasonal singles mark to 17-8 and combines with sophomore No.3 singles player Rebecca Mittler (Elyria/ Catholic) for an 18-8 slate at No.1 doubles. She now has 134 career victories to rank fifth all-time in BW women's tennis history, including 66 career singles wins (66-40) and 68 career doubles triumphs (68-46).
