Men’s Wrestling Climbs to No. 11 in Latest NWCA Division III Poll

MANHEIM, PA. – The Baldwin Wallace University men's wrestling team climbed 11 spots to number 11 in the second edition of the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Division III Top-25 Poll.

BW is joined in the Top-25 poll by fellow Ohio Athletic Conference members Ohio Northern University at 13 and John Carroll University at 15.

In addition, three Yellow Jacket wrestlers are ranked national in their weight classes.   Junior 133-pounder Jaden Hinton (Glassboro, N.J.) is ranked sixth, junior All-American Michael Petrella (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) is ranked fourth at 157 pounds and senior All-American Doug Byrne (Wickliffe) is ranked fourth at 197 pounds.

Hinton enters the week with a perfect record of 11-0 with five major decisions, three technical falls and one pinfall. Petrella is undefeated with a record of 6-0 with four pins and one technical fall. Byrne comes into the week with a perfect record of 7-0 with five pins and one technical fall.

BW returns to action on Saturday, December 10 when it travels to Naperville, Illinois to compete in the 58th North Central College Invitational inside Residence Hall at 10 a.m.
