Petrella Named OAC Men's Wrestler of the Week for Second Time This Season

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – For the second time this season and in his career, Baldwin Wallace University junior All-American and No. 1 nationally ranked 149-pounder Michael Petrella (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) has been selected as the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Wrestler of the Week. 

Petrella earns his second accolade after posting a 3-0 record last week to help the No. 4 nationally ranked Yellow Jackets to a perfect 4-0 record in OAC duals.

He began the week with a pinfall victory in in 6:25 over Nathan Leko of Otterbein University last Tuesday.  Petrella then earned his final two victories of the week at the OAC Duals hosted by Ohio Northern University last Saturday.  He won by pinfall in in 4:48 over Cael Vanderhorst of Ohio Northern and the finished with a pinfall victory in in 2:17 over Frank DiMarco of John Carroll University.

This season, Petrella is undefeated with a 19-0 record.  He is second on the team with a career-best tying 11 pins and has added three technical falls and one major decision.

For his career, Petrella has a record of 58-4 with 23 pins, six major decisions and six technical falls.

BW is back in action on Saturday, February 14 when it hosts the 36th John Summa Invitational on Seniors' Day inside the Lou Higgins Center Fieldhouse at 10 a.m.
