BW Women's Golf Team Tied for Sixth on Day One of Yellow Jacket Invite

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team opened the 2009 fall season by hosting day one (Saturday, September  12, 2009) of the Yellow Jacket Invitational at Creekwood Golf Course in Columbia Station, Ohio. BW shot 380 as a team and stands in sixth place of the 10 teams competing.

Clarion (Pa.) University and Cleveland State University are tied for the team lead at 327 strokes apiece. Clarion's Jenna Rinker leads all individuals after firing an opening-round 73 (+1).

For BW, freshman Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) led the way with an 85 and is tied for ninth overall in the 60-person field. Junior Nicole Carlone (Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas) was second for the Jackets with a 96, freshman Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) was third at 98 and junior Sam Migalski (Manahawkin, N.J./ Southern Regional) rounded out the BW scoring with a 101. Sophomore Caci Lewandowski (Sharon Center/ Medina Highland) was fifth for the Yellow Jackets with a 104.

Three Jacket freshmen also competed as individuals.  RaeAnn Pina (South Amherst/ Medina Buckeye) shot a 96,  Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls/ Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) totaled 103 and Emily Eighmy (Erie, Pa./ Villa Maria Academy) shot 105.

Day two of the Invite will begin tomorrow at 9:30 a.m.
