BW Women's Golf Team Ties for Second at JCU Invite; Kapusta Cards Career-Best Round

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team shot 394 and tied for second at the one-day John Carroll University Spring Fling Tournament today (Sunday, April 18, 2010) at Fowlers Mill G.C. in Chesterland. Freshman Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) carded a career-best round of 88.

The Yellow Jackets' 394 strokes tied with host JCU for second behind tourney champion Mount Union College (374).

Kapusta shot an 88 on the par-70 and 5,913-yard layout and beat her previous career-best of 93 shot during the 2009 fall season. She finished in a tie for second place overall in the field.

Also for BW, freshman Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/St. Joseph Academy) shot 93, junior Nicole Carlone (Canton/St. Thomas Aquinas) shot 104 and freshman Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) rounded out the scoring with a 109.

In addition, junior Sam Migalski (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) shot 112, freshman Emily Eighmy (Erie, Pa./ Villa Maria Academy) totaled 118, and sophomore Caci Lewandowski (Sharon Center/Medina Highland) shot 121.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday and Sunday, April 24-25, at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Tournament at Fowlers Mill. The winner of the tournament receives an automatic berth to the 2010 NCAA Division III Championships.
