BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished second today (Sunday, September 27, 2009) at the two-day and 36-hole Heidelberg University Fall Invitational Tournament at the Mohawk Golf Club in Tiffin, Ohio.
The Yellow Jackets carded a first round total of 397 strokes on Saturday (Sept. 26) and today carded a consistent 398 score for a two-day total of 795 strokes. Fellow OAC institution Ohio Northern University was the team champion.
Individually, freshman Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) was seventh of 27 total golfers and led all Yellow Jackets with rounds of 88 and 91 for a 36-hole total of 179 strokes. She was followed by freshman Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) who shot a 197 (95-102) to tie for 10th, junior Sam Migalski (Manahawkin, N.J./ Southern Regional) with a 207-stroke total (104-103) and 12th place, junior Nicole Carlone (Canton/ Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas) was tied for 13th with 208 strokes (106-102), freshman Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls/ Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) was 17th with 215 strokes (109-106), sophomore Caci Lewandowski (Sharon Center/ Medina Highland) was 18th with 218 strokes (108-110) and freshman Emily Eighmy (Erie, Pa./ Villa Maria Academy) was 22nd with 237 total shots (120-117).
The Yellow Jackets return to action on Saturday and Sunday, October 3-4 when they travel to Erie, Pennsylvania to comprete in the fall season-ending Gannon (Pa.) University Tournament at the Lakeside Country Club.
