BW Women's Golf Team Completes Fall Season at D-II Gannon Invitational

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team completed its 2009 fall season on the second and final day (Sunday, October 4) of the 36-hole Gannon (Pa.) University Invitational at Lakeshore Country Club in Erie, Pennsylvania. BW, the only Division III institution competing, shot a 390 on day two and placed seventh in a primarily Division II field.

Freshman Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) tied for 18th place overall with a second-round score of 90.

Freshman Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) carded a 94 and placed 23rd, junior Nicole Carlone (Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas) shot a 102 and sophomore Caci Lewandowski (Sharon Center/ Medina Highland) totaled a 104 to round out the BW scoring. Freshman Emily Eighmy (Erie, Pa./ Villa Maria Academy) was fifth for the Yellow Jackets with a 105.

The Yellow Jackets finished the fall campaign with an 8-19 record and averaged 392.33 strokes per round -- four strokes better than last season's team average.
