Fox Meadow and Weymouth Country Clubs Named Official Courses for BW Men's and Women's Golf

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University Senior Vice President Richard L. Fletcher has announced that Fox Meadow and Weymouth Country Clubs in Medina, Ohio will serve as the official courses for Yellow Jacket men's and women's golf, respectively.

Fox Meadow C.C. is a championship, par 72, 18-hole golf course located in the country side setting of Medina.  The course unites a fifty-five acre lake with 565 acres of scenic surroundings.

"Fox Meadow is a tremendous advantage for the men's golf program at BW," said first-year Head Coach Tom Heil. "Our program has a nice history with the club and we're glad that we are now able to call it our official home."

BW will host the 2009 Ohio Athletic Conference Fall Invitational at Fox Meadow on Sunday and Monday, Sept. 20-21. Fox Meadow also served as the host site for the 2006 OAC Championship Tournament.

Weymouth C.C.  is a championship, par 72, 18-hole golf course located in the northern portion of Medina. Weymouth sits on the grounds of a former apple orchard, which in 1969 was transformed into the reputable golf course it is today.

"I think it's great that the management at Fox Meadow and Weymouth has teamed up with Baldwin Wallace to give the women's golf team an official home for future events," said Women's Golf Head Coach Sean Strickland.  "We look forward to working closely with Weymouth as we continue to improve the women's golf program at BW."

In addition to serving as the host to BW golf, Fox Meadows Assistant Professional Bobby Santerre, a 2006 graduate of the College, will assist both Heil and Strickland. Santerre was a three-time All-OAC player for the Yellow Jackets and a two-time individual runner-up at the OAC Championship Tournament.

"Bobby has both the talent and ability to help both of our programs," said Heil. "He is an outstanding teacher of the game. His expertise combined with the amenities that Fox and Weymouth offer gives the BW golf program the best support system of any program in the OAC."
