BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team stands sixth of nine schools after the first day (Saturday, September 19, 2009) of the two-day and 36-hole John Carroll University Fall Invitational Tournament at the Fowlers Mill Golf Club in Chesterland, Ohio. The final day of play is on Sunday, Sept. 20.
The Yellow Jackets carded a first round total of 404 strokes to trail tourney leader Otterbein College by 53 strokes.
Individually, freshman Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) led the way with a 97. She was followed by freshman Emily Eighmy (Erie, Pa./ Villa) Maria Academy) with a 100, freshman Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) with a 102, junior Nicole Carlone (Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas) with a 105, junior Sam Migalski (Manahawkin, N.J. (Southern Regional) with a 110, sophomore Caci Lewandowski (Sharon Center/ Medina Highland) with a 112 and freshman Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls/ Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) with a 116.
Following today's final round at JCU, the Yellow Jackets return to action on Monday, Sept. 21 when they compete at the one-day and 18-hole Muskingum College Invitational near New Concord, Ohio.
