BW Women's Golf Team Competes on Day One of NIU Snowbird Intercollegiate in Tampa, Fla.

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team opened the spring portion of its 2009-10 schedule on day one (Wednesday, March 10) of the Northern Illinois University Snowbird Intercollegiate at Pebblecreek Golf and Country Club in Tampa, Florida. The Yellow Jackets were one of only three Division III teams competing in a primarily Division I and II field. The second and final day of competition is set for 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

The Jackets shot 429 as a team on the par-72 and 5,962-yard course.

Freshman Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) led the Yellow Jackets with an 18-hole score of 96. Freshman Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/St. Joseph Academy) was second at 108, freshman Emily Eighmy (Erie, Pa./ Villa Maria Academy) was third at 112 and junior Nicole Carlone (Canton/St. Thomas Aquinas) rounded out the scoring with a 113.

Junior Sam Migalski (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) and freshman Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) also competed and each shot 116.
