BW Women's Golf Team Stands Sixth on First Day of OAC Tournament

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team stands sixth after the first day of the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament being played today (Saturday and Sunday, April 24-25) at the Fowlers Mill Golf Club in Chesterland, Ohio.  John Carroll University is the host school. The second and final round tees-off tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.


The Yellow Jackets had a team total of 386 strokes on the par-71 and 5,815 yard Fowlers Mill layout.  The 386 total is just 11 shots off of second place Mount Union College, but 51 strokes back of first round leader Otterbein College's 337-stroke total.

Leading the way for the Yellow Jackets was freshman Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) with a 94. She was closely followed by junior Nicole Carlone (Canton/ Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas) with a 96, freshman Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) with a 97, freshman Emily Eighmy (Erie, Pa./ Villa Maria Academy) with a 99 and freshman Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls/ Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) with a 100.  The top four of five individual scores count toward the team total of 386.  The 99 by Eighmy was a spring season-low round.

This is the final tournament for the season for BW.
