BW Women's Golf Team Places Ninth at Capital Purple & White Invite

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team shot a final round 407 on the second and final day (Saturday, April 10) of the 2010 Capital University Purple & White Invite at Foxfire G.C. in Lockbourne.

The Yellow Jackets were short-handed this weekend as two players failed to make the trip due to illness.

On day two, freshman Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) led the Jackets with a 94 on the par-72 and 6,576-yard course. Freshman Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/St. Joseph Academy) shot 96 on day two and tied for Kapusta for the team tournament lead at 201 strokes.  

Also in the final round, junior Sam Migalski (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) shot 103, freshman Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls/Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) shot 114, and freshman Emily Eighmy (Erie, Pa./ Villa Maria Academy) shot 121.

The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Sunday, April 18 at the John Carroll Invitational at Fowlers Mill G.C. in Chesterland. BW then competes at the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Tournament on April 24-25 that will be hosted by JCU at Fowlers Mill. The winner of the OAC Tournament receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.
