BW Women's Golf Team Places Fifth at Mount Union Invitational

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team finished fifth of nine teams on the second and final day (Sunday, March 28) of the 2010 Mount Union College Spring Invitational at Tannenhauf G.C. in Alliance.

The Yellow Jackets battled cold and wet conditions to shoot 400 on the par-72 course.

Walsh University won the team title at 712 strokes and was followed in the top five by Meryhurst (Pa.) College (724), host Mount Union (729), Northwestern (Ohio) College (740) and BW (788).

Freshman Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) led BW with a 94 and a two-day total of 185 -- good for 14th overall in the 50-person field .

Freshman Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) was second at 96 and junior Nicole Carlone (Canton/ St. Thomas Aquinas) carded a 101. Freshman Emily Eighmy (Erie, Pa./ Villa Maria Academy) was fourth for the Yellow Jackets with a 109 and freshman Sarah Terrill (Cuyahoga Falls/ Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy) shot a 110.

Junior Sam Migalski (Manahawkin, N.J./Southern Regional) competed as an individual and shot 103.

BW is idle until the Capital University Purple & White Invitational on Friday and Saturday, April 9-10, at Foxfire G.C. in Lockbourne.
