BW Women's Golf Team Stands in Seventh Place After Round One at DII Gannon (Pa.) Invite

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University women's golf team currently stands in seventh place of seven teams as the Yellow Jackets wrap up their 2009 fall campaign at the Gannon (Pa.) University Invitational on Saturday and Sunday, October 3-4 at Lake Shore Country Club in Erie, Pa. The Yellow Jackets  are the lone Division III institution competing in a primarily Division II field.

The Yellow Jackets carded a first round total of 384 strokes today (Saturday, October 3, 2009) as host Gannon has the lead at 335 strokes.  Tee times for tomorrow's round are TBA.

Individually, freshman Brooke Hamilton (Cleveland/ St. Joseph Academy) is tied for 18th and led all Yellow Jackets with a round of 92. She was followed by freshman Rebecca Kapusta (Independence) who carded a first-day round of 93 and is tied for 22nd. Junior Nicole Carlone (Canton/ Louisville St. Thomas Aquinas) is in 29th with 98 strokes, freshman Emily Eighmy (Erie, Pa./ Villa Maria Academy) is 34th with a 101 and sophomore Caci Lewandowski (Sharon Center/ Medina Highland) shot a 109 and is in 38th.
