Camarati Garners Fifth Career OAC Softball Pitcher of Week Accolade

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – For the fifth time in her career, Baldwin Wallace University softball junior All-Ohio Athletic Conference right handed pitcher Nikki Camarati (Brunswick/Holy Name) has been named the OAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Camarati was 2-1 with save last week to help led BW to a 4-2 record and a 2-2 mark to open the 2021 OAC season.   The Yellow Jackets won its first four games with victories over John Carroll University and Muskingum University.

She won her first game of the week with a five-inning 10-2 victory over John Carroll last Monday as she allowed two runs on three hits with 12 strikeouts and one walk.  Camarati then earned her third career save last Tuesday when she pitched a scoreless seventh inning and did not allow a hit with a strikeout and walk.  She won her final game of the week with a complete game 1-0 victory against Muskingum on Saturday as she did not allow and just one hit with 13 strikeouts and five walks.

In her career, Camarati has appeared in 39 games with 30 starts and owns a record of 23-7 with three saves.  She has recorded 248 strikeouts with 89 walks in 189.1 innings pitched.  Camarati has a career earned run average (ERA) of 1.50.

BW is back in action on Saturday, March 20 when it travels to Wilmington for an OAC doubleheader against Wilmington College at 1 p.m.   The Yellow Jackets return home on Sunday, March 21 for an OAC doubleheader against Wilmington College at 1 p.m.
