Baldwin Wallace All-American Junior Thrower Kevin Phipps Named OAC Field Athlete of the Week

BEREA, OHIO -- Baldwin Wallace University All-American junior thrower Kevin Phipps (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) has been named as the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Field Athlete of the Week for his performance at the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday.

Phipps won the hammer throw with a mark of 194 feet and 10 inches. He also placed second in the discus with a throw of 159'3" at the All-Ohio Division III Championship Meet in Delaware.

To date, Phipps is automatically qualified in the hammer throw (194'10") for the NCAA DIII Championship Meet that will be hosted by BW from May 27-29. He also has a high provisional qualifying mark in the discus (166'9").

Phipps earned All-American honors with a seventh-place finish in the discus at last year's NCAA DIII Championship Meet. He was an indoor All-American this season in the weight throw as well.
