Men Tied for Sixth at OAC Relays; Phipps and Patrick Set Two Meet Records

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University indoor track and field team hosted the 2010 Ohio Athletic Conference Relays today (Saturday, January 30, 2010) on the Harrison Dillard Track in the Lou Higgins Center. The Yellow Jacket women placed fourth of 10 teams with 89.5 points and the men finished tied for sixth with 72 points.

For the men, All-OAC throwers senior Greg Patrick (Collins/Western Reserve) and junior Kevin Phipps (Reynoldsburg/Watkins Memorial) finished first and second, respectively, to win the shot put relay with a mark of 101'4.25". Patrick threw 51'3" and Phipps 50'1.25". Phipps also won the weight throw exhibition in 55'11.75" and Patrick was second in 52'7.50". The duo set meet relay records in both events.

The Yellow Jackets return to action next Friday, February 5 as they travel to Oberlin, Ohio for the Oberlin College Indoor Meet at 5:30 p.m.
