Baldwin Wallace Men's Track and Field Team Host Sparky Adams Invitational in Berea

BEREA, OHIO -- The Baldwin Wallace University men's outdoor track and field team competed today (Saturday, April 24, 2010) as it hosted the Sparky Adams Invitational Meet in Berea. The meet was unscored.

Highlighting the day for the men was senior Greg Patrick (Collins/Western Reserve) who won the shot put and bettered his school record and NCAA provisional mark with a throw of 55'1.50". Junior All-American Kevin Phipps (Pataskala/Watkins Memorial) won the hammer throw with a mark of 180'08" and placed second in the discus with a mark of 161'10". Senior Brett Scarl (North Olmsted) came in second place with a throw of 166'09" in the hammer. Freshman Jake Buckey (Geneva) was third in the javelin at 178'02".

The Yellow Jackets return to action next Friday and Saturday, April 30 and May 1, at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championship Meet at Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio.
