Three School Records Set; Men's Swimming and Diving Finishes in Fourth at OAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team finish the OAC Championships in fourth place with 420 points on season finale hosted by Ohio Northern University at University of Akron inside Ocasek Natatorium. John Carroll University took home the win with a total of 948 points.

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:

  • Sophomore All-OAC Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Tate) upsets his own school record and his second school record this weekend. McQueary was the OAC Champion in the 200-yard butterfly with a new record time of 1:52.90, his previous record time being 1:53.91
    • This is McQueary's first career All-OAC honors
  • Freshman Nolan Szuch (Springboro) broke school record by placing sixth in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:55.07, the previous time from 2019 was 1:57.47
  • Freshman All-OAC Jason Heisler (Saline, Mich. / Saline) was the runner up in the one-meter dive with a total of 490.55 points
    • This is Heisler's second career All-OAC honors
  • Sophomore Jason Tafoya (El Paso, Texas) finished ninth in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:15.61
  • Junior Mason Kooyman (Concord Township / Chardon) placed 14th in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 47.63 seconds 

BW relays were highlighted by:

  • The new school record of the 400-yard freestyle relay is being owned by McQueary, Kooyman, sophomore Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) and senior Austin Olsavsky (Medina) as they placed fifth in a time of 3:10.57, replacing the 14-year-old record time of 3:11.70
