Eight Swimming and Diving Student-Athletes Selected to Inaugural College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Eight Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's swimming and diving student-athletes have been named to the inaugural College Sports Communicators (CSC) All-District Team.

The BW men are represented by sophomore All-Ohio Athletic Conference diver Jason Heisler (Saline, Mich. / Saline), junior freestyler Mason Kooyman (Concord Township / Chardon), sophomore All-OAC stroker Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Tate) and senior freestyler Austin Olsavsky (Medina).

Heisler carries a 3.79 grade point average in public relations. This season, he placed 27th in the three-meter diving and 21st in the 1-meter events at the NCAA Division III Diving Regional Championships. Heisler qualified for the regional after being the running up at the OAC Championship in the 1-meter with a career-best and NCAA Division III B cut total points of 490.55 and the 3-meter with a career-best and NCAA Division III B cut total points of 454.25.

Kooyman carries a 3.59 grade point average in sport management. This season, he finished 11th in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 21.56 seconds, placed 14th in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 47.63 seconds at the OAC Championships. Kooyman also earned OAC Swimmer of the Week earlier this season.

McQueary carries a 3.80 grade point average in engineering. This season, he broke two school record and tied another at the OAC Championships. McQueary was crowned the OAC Champion in the 200-yard butterfly and the fastest time in BW history and second fastest in the 100-yard buttefly and 200-yard individual medley.

Olsavsky carries a 3.58 grade point average in national security. This season, he placed eighth in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:44.85 at the OAC Championships and is the seventh fastest time in BW history.

The Yellow Jacket women are represented by sophomore All-OAC performer Mallory Dondorfer (Mentor), senior All-OAC freestyler Bella Ratino (Mentor/Hawken), junior stroker Lauren Slife (Westfield Center/Cloverleaf) and junior freestyler Kate Wells (Pittsburgh, Pa. / North Hills).

Dondorfer carries a 3.69 grade point average in early childhood education. This season, she earned three All-OAC honors at the OAC Championships as she was the runner-up in the 200-yard individual medley, the runner-up in the 400-yard individual medley and the third place finisher in the 200-yard backstroke.

Ratino carries a 3.50 grade point average and in business analytics. This season, she was the runner-up in the 1650-yard freestyle and placed seventh in the 500-yard freestyle at OAC Championships. Ratino  earned her 12th career All-OAC honors.

Slife carries a 3.69 grade point average with a major in Public Relations. This season, she finished 12th in the 50-yard freestyle and 15th in the 100-yard butterfly at the OAC Championships.

Wells carries a 3.64 grade point average and is a graduate in exercise science. This season, she finished 14th in the 100-yard freestyle at the OAC Championships.

BW men's and women's swimming and diving each placed fourth at the OAC Championships earlier this month.
