Men's and Women's Tennis Tabbed Fourth in OAC Preseason Coaches Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University men's and women's tennis teams have been picked to finish fourth in the Ohio Athletic Conference Preseason Coaches Poll.

The BW men were selected fourth with 20 points. Ohio Northern University was picked first with 35 points and five first place votes.  John Carroll University was second with 29 points and Otterbein University was third with 28 points and two first place votes.  Capital University rounded out the top five with 18 points.   

Veteran men's coach Brian Rector '89  returns nine letterwinners, three All-Ohio Athletic Conference selections and two Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference performers from last year's squad that advanced to the OAC Tournament semifinals and had an overall record of 12-7 and a mark of 2-4 in the OAC.  The Yellow Jacket men, who posted a record of 3-0 in the fall portion of its 2022-23 schedule, open the spring schedule on Saturday, February 18 when it hosts NAIA Mount Vernon Nazarene University at Paramount Tennis Club in Medina at 3:30p.m.

The BW women were picked fourth with 28 points. Otterbein University was selected first with 48 points and six first-place votes.  John Carroll University was second with 41 points and one first place vote. Ohio Northern University was third with 40 points and one first place vote.  Capital University rounded out the top five with 23 points.   

Fifth-year head coach Dean Morse '03  returns seven letterwinners, one All-Ohio Athletic Conference player, and three Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference selections from last year's squad that advance it to OAC Tournament semifinals and an overall record of 6-12 and a mark of 4-3 in the OAC.  The Yellow Jacket women, who went a 0-3 record in the fall portion of its 2022-23 schedule, open the spring schedule on Saturday, February 18 when it hosts NAIA Mount Vernon Nazarene University at Paramount Tennis Club in Medina at 3:30 p.m.
