Women Selected Fourth, Men Picked Sixth in 2023 OAC Indoor Track and Field Preseason Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field team has been picked to finish fourth in the 2022-23 Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Preseason Coaches Poll, while the men's team has been selected sixth.

The BW women finished fourth in this year's voting with 50 points. Claiming the first-place spot is the 2021 indoor and outdoor champions was Mount Union with 80 points and eight first-place votes. Coming in second was crosstown rival, John Carroll University claimed the second spot in the poll with 74 points and two first-place votes, while Ohio Northern University assumed the third spot with 61.

On the men's side, the Yellow Jackets were selected sixth of 10 OAC teams with 39 points. Defending 2021 indoor and outdoor champions Mount Union claimed the top position in the poll with 80 points and eight first-place votes. In the second slot was crosstown rival John Carroll who accumulated 74 points and the two remaining first-place votes. Ohio Northern and Wilmington College grabbed the third and fourth spots with 62 and 59 points, respectively.

Head Coach Daniel Simpson, who is in his first season at the helm of both track and field squads. In the 2021 OAC indoor championship, the women finished fourth, while the men placed sixth.

BW begins the 2022-23 indoor season on Saturday, January 21, when the Yellow Jackets travel to Westerville to compete in the Otterbein Invitational inside the Clements Recreation Center.
