Cross Country Tabbed Fourth, Seventh in OAC Coaches Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – The Baldwin Wallace University women's cross country team has been voted to place fourth, while the men's team has been picked to finish seventh in the annual Ohio Athletic Conference Coaches Preseason Poll.

The BW women, who were picked third in 2021 and finished fourth at the OAC Championships, were selected fourth with 55 points. Defending OAC Champion and crosstown rival John Carroll University was the unanimous first place choice with 81 points and nine first place votes. The University of Mount Union was slated second with 71 points and one first place vote. Ohio Northern University was tabbed third with 65 points. Rounding out the top five was Otterbein University with 52 points.

The Yellow Jacket men, who were picked seventh in 2021 and finished seventh at the OAC Championships, were selected seventh once again with 37 points. Defending OAC Champion and crosstown rival John Carroll University was the unanimous first place choice with 81 points and nine first place votes. Otterbein University was selected second with 68 points and one first place vote. The University of Mount Union was third with 66 points and Ohio Nothern University was fourth with 56 points. Rounding out the top five was Wilmington College with 54 points.

BW Coordinator of Cross Country and Track and Field Joe Eby returns 19 letterwinners (10 women and nine men) and six Academic All-OAC selections (three women and three men)  from last year's team.  Eby also welcomes back the defending OAC Women's Champion in sophomore All-OAC runner Hope Murphy (Mogadore)

The Yellow Jackets open the 2022 campaign on September 1 when they travel to Wooster to compete in the annual College of Wooster Invitational on the L.C. Boles Memorial Golf Course.
