Brown and Gold Club Reverse Raffle Set for March 31

Brown and Gold Club Reverse Raffle Set for March 31

BEREA, Ohio -- The Baldwin Wallace University Brown and Gold Club Reverse Raffle will be held on Friday, March 31 at the BW Student Activities Center.

The long-standing tradition of the Reverse Raffle is the signature fundraiser for the Brown & Gold Club and its support of Yellow Jacket Athletics. All proceeds from the event are invested in projects that support current and future scholar-athletes, ensuring they have the resources to succeed in the classroom, in competition and after commencement.

The Reverse Raffle, which is open to adults 21 and over, begins at 6 p.m. with a social hour and open bar.  A buffet dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the raffle to kickoff at 7 p.m.  Registration deadline is March 24.  Early bird regristration, which includes a Free sideboard ticket, is March 1.

What is a Reverse Raffle?

Just what it sounds like! In a traditional raffle, the first ticket pulled wins the prize. In a reverse raffle, the LAST ticket pulled wins the prize.

The Brown & Gold Club Reverse Raffle sells 200 tickets, and all 200 tickets are pulled until we get to the last, winning ticket. When there are only five remaining tickets, the Reverse Raffle Committee presents the representatives the opportunity to either split the pot or to choose to continue drawing tickets until there is only one grand prize winner. Those possessing a 'raffle-only' ticket (non-attendee) are contacted via phone while those in attendance are called to the stage to decide.

Rules of entry:

  • Winner need NOT be present to win.

  • All entrants and winner must provide name, address, and contact information.

  • Winner is responsible for applicable taxes, if any.
