Kreke Named First Ever Men’s and Women’s Bowling Head Coach

BEREA, Ohio – Baldwin Wallace University Director of Athletics Steve Thompson has named Maria Kreke as the University first men's and women's bowling head coach.

"I am thrilled to have Maria join the BW family and help to launch our 26 and 27 varsity programs," said Thompson.  "Her love of the game is remarkable. I know our future student-athletes are going to reach new heights with her tutelage."

Kreke, who is a professional bowler on the Professional Women's Bowling Association (PWBA) Tour, comes to BW after working as a financial planner at Plancorp, LLC in St. Louis, Missouri for the last two years. 

"I am so excited to join the BW family as its next head coach," said Kreke. "Bowling has always been a passion of mine and I can't wait to share my knowledge and love of the sport with the future Yellow Jacket bowling student-athletes."

In addition, Kreke served as an assistant bowling coach at Breese Central (Ill.) High School.  She was also a sales an operations management trainee for Penske Truck Leasing in Nashville, Tennessee.

Kreke earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Illinois State University.  She was a member the women's bowling club team and served as its treasurer.  Kreke was also a member of the Honor's Society.
