Women Selected Fourth, Men Tabbed Sixth in 2023 OAC Outdoor Track and Field Preseason Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University women's track and field team was selected fourth in the 2023 Ohio Athletic Conference Outdoor Preseason Coaches Poll, while the men were tabbed sixth. 

The BW women finished fourth in this year's voting with 55 points. Claiming the first-place spot is the 2023 indoor champions, Mount Union University with 81 points and 9 first-place votes. Coming in second was crosstown rival, John Carroll University with 73 points and a first-place votes, while Ohio Northern University claimed the third slot with 64 points.

On the men's side, the Yellow Jackets finished six of 10 OAC teams with 55 points. Defending 2021 outdoor and 2023 indoor champions, Mount Union claimed the top position in the poll with 81 points and nine first-place votes. Selected for second was 2022 outdoor champions crosstown rival John Carroll who accumulated 73 points and the remaining first-place vote. Ohio Northern grabbed third with 64 points, respectively.

In his first year as head coach, Daniel Simpson is at the helm of both track and field team. The women placed fourth and the men seventh in the 2022 OAC outdoor championship.

BW begins the 2023 outdoor season on Saturday, March 23, when the Yellow Jackets travel to New Concord to compete in the Amy Adams Invitational, hosted by Muskingum University on Johnson Family Track
