McQueary Ties School Record, Heisler Awarded All-OAC Honors; Men's Swimming and Diving Remains at OAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio -  Sophomore Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Tate) ties the school record with and freshman Jason Heisler (Saline, Mich. / Saline) earned All-Ohio Athletic Conference honors while the Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team stands in fourth place with 282 points on third day of the OAC Championships hosted by Ohio Northern University at University of Akron inside Ocasek Natatorium. 

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:

  • McQueary finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly and tied the five-year-old school record with a timing of 50.51 seconds.
  • Heisler was the runner-up in the 3-meter dive with a total of 454.25 points
    • This is Heisler's first career OAC honors 
  • Sophomore Tyson Swihart (Sarasota, Fla. / Sarasota Military Academy) placed ninth in the 400-yard individual medley in a time of 4:17.25
  • Senior Austin Olsavsky (Medina) placed eighth in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:44.85
  • Senior Alec McNeill (Avon Lake) finished ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:00.90
  • Freshman Nolan Szuch (Springboro) placed 11th in the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 54.22 seconds

BW relays were highlighted by:

  •  The 200-yard medley relay team of sophomore Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.), McNeilMcQueary and sophomore Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) placed fourth in a time of 1:36.46

The Yellow Jackets are back in action tomorrow for the final day of the OAC Championships at University of Akron inside Ocasek Natatorium. Preliminary action begins each day at 10 a.m. with finals at 5:30 p.m.
