Men's Swimming and Diving Falls to John Carroll

BEREA, Ohio - The Baldwin Wallace University men's swimming and diving team dropped an Ohio Athletic Conference dual meet against John Carroll University in the BW Natatorium inside the Lou Higgins Center. 

BW (8-4) fell to John Carroll to a final score of 133-63

The Yellow Jackets individual highlights included:

  • Sophomore Tommie McQueary (Batavia/Bethel Tate) won the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 1:59.72 and placed second in the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:00.38 
  • Freshmen Jason Heisler (Saline, Mich. / Saline) won in the 1-meter dive with a total of 178 points
  • Junior Mason Kooyman (Concord Township / Chardon) placed third in the 50-yard freestyle in a time of 22.39 seconds and third in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 49.07 seconds
  • Freshmen Kevin Meyer (Mentor) placed fourth in the 1000-yard freestyle in a time of 11:11.42
  • Senior Austin Olsavsky (Medina) finished third in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 5:07.90 and finished third in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:48.56
  • Sophomore Austin Kingsley (Northport, N.Y.) finished fourth in the 200-yard backstroke in a time of 2:00.42
  • Sophomore Jason Tafoya (El Paso, Texas) placed fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:23.22

The Yellow Jackets return to the pool tomorrow Saturday, January 28 has it travels to South Euclid for an non-conferene dual meet against NCAA Division II Notre Dame College and Frostburg State University in the Mellen Pool inside Keller Center
