Mazzeo Named OAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for Second Time This Season

WESTERVILLE, Ohio – Senior All-Ohio Athletic Conference and Academic All-OAC guard Anthony Mazzeo (Canton/Massillon Jackson) has been named OAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week presented by Midstream Lighting for the second time this season and second time of his career.

This past week, Mazzeo put on a show against No. 6 nationally ranked John Carroll University with a season-high 39 point performance. He went 70% from the field on 14-20 shooting while also grabbing six rebounds and dishing out two assists. To close out the regular season, Mazzeo would lead the Yellow Jackets with 19 points. He grabbed another six boards and dished out one assist. 

On the season, Mazzeo has led the OAC with 469 points and he was second on the team with 132 rebounds and 52 assists. On the defensive end, he was second on the team with two steals and he also blocked six shots. He led the OAC with 18.8 points per game, he averaged 5.3 rebounds per game and 2.1 assists per game.

In his career, Mazzeo is 19th on the all-time scoring leaderboard with 1,318 points, he has collected 362 rebounds and dished out 175 assists. On the defensive end, he has registered 59 steals and blocked 16 shots.

BW finished the season with a 12-13 record with an 8-10 record in the OAC.
